Hands hold books in the air with text reading - I Need a Book.

Students can request a book selection based on a series of questions.  Remember to wait for email notifications regarding pickup of materials.

Librarian:  Monica Cabarcas

Checkout Policy:  In order to foster a community of shared resources, we typically suggest students checkout up to five items. During the first nine weeks, students may find they are limited to placing two holds. This facilitates the turnaround time in preparing holds for pickup. However, students can always access additional checkouts by speaking with the librarian via email or office hours.

Checkout Process: Students may place two items on hold in the Follett Destiny Library System.  Students will receive an email notification when their holds are ready for pickup.  Book orders are labeled with the student name and are available in the front foyer, Monday - Thursday from 8:00 - 4:30.  On Friday, you may pick up between 8:00 and 3:00. Returns may be left in the return bin in the front foyer. All returned items remain in quarantine for a 3 day period.

Office Hours:  Friday 1:00 - 3:00 - Zoom library links are posted in each student's English Schoology course under the Class Info button.

Responsible Reading:  In a library that serves students ranging in ages from eleven to fourteen, a wide variety of materials are needed. Obviously, what is interesting and appropriate for eleven-year-olds may not be interesting and/or appropriate for fourteen-year-olds and visa versa. When students select books, Ms. Cabarcas will issue the standard advice: "If you choose a book that makes you uncomfortable or that would make your parents uncomfortable, return it." The beauty of libraries is that they are all about choice. Find a book you can completely enjoy.
